As a new mom I went through the "normal" body and life changes most new moms go through. But one change for me that was hard for me to come to terms with was the way my hair started to feel and grow. Before pregnancy I loved my hair as it was long, soft and healthy.
Weeks after weaning my little one from breast feeding my hair started to dramatically fall out and shed. I knew before hand that hair loss was deemed to happen either after birth or post weaning but my hair was coming out in the hand full, clogging every drain in my house and even breaking and jamming my new Dyson vacuum.
It was to say the least I started freaking out! After multiple doctor appointment with different doctors to try find different opinions but my search turned into an epic fail with ALL of the professionals stating this was a normal phase after pregnancy. This was not enough for me, I went into total panic mode and started to Google the entire web to find a fast and easy resolution. This turned out to be a really bad idea as hundred of recommendations and dollars later spent ended up with NOTHING really working.
So I than threw in the white flag and realized that there was no fast fix for this type of hair loss as my body needed to run the coarse of getting back to my normal hormonal state. 6 months later my hair gradually stopped falling out but the feel and texture of my hair was completely different from before I was pregnant. It was crunchy (felt like straw), dry, weak, splitting, breaking and had lost its soft shine. I even noticed that it was taking10 times longer for it to grow any length or volume at all, I now had thin lifeless flat hair.

The Wet Brush
Davines Oi All In One Milk
For hydrating and shine-enhancing, for any hair type. Lightweight OI All In One Milk softens, detangles, controls frizz and protects from frizz. I have search for over 10 years for a great leave in conditioner that was light weight and non greasy, especially for having blonde hair. Even though it is a little pricey for a small bottle a lot goes a long way. I only use one pump "spray" after every wash on my wet hair before I brush and blow dry. This bottle will typically last me 6 months to a year.
Eufora Style Pure Polish 5.1 Oz
Olaplex Hair Perfector
I usually apply this mask before bed with a generous amount of product to my hair ends and work my way to my routes. I than tie a plastic bag (non colored) covering my hair and hair line and secure it in-place with an elastic (not a flattering look). I go to bed and wash out the product in the morning in the shower. The longer you leave a hair mask in the better.
